Digital education guidelines to support schools across Europe

Education about digital technologies and their role in society is central. It equips pupils to understand disinformation and how digital tools can be misused. At the same time, it enables teachers and school leaders to guide pupils in using technology safely and responsibly.
A majority of EU citizens agree that digital skills are essential and should be taught to everyone at all levels of education, according to a survey on the future needs in digital education. In this context, the European Commission, together with experts from across Europe, have developed four sets of guidelines for primary and secondary teachers. The guidelines include ready-to-use classroom examples, guiding questions, definitions of key terms and quality criteria. Discover how they can support your classroom practice.
