IATEFL Subsidie Levende Talen Engels

Elk jaar is er een internationale conferentie voor Engelse leerkrachten. Het vindt plaats in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en is een uitstekend moment om te leren, te delen, en te netwerken met peers van alle leeftijden en nationaliteiten! De conferentie wordt georganiseerd door de International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language, kortweg IATEFL.

De sectie Engels van Levende Talen stuurt elk jaar een student of onderwijsprofessional naar deze conferentie. Levende Talen is een organisatie en vakbond voor onderwijzers die taallessen geven. Bij de sectie Engels staan we voor internationalisering, samenwerking en professionele ontwikkeling van alle leerkrachten die Engels geven, van het basisonderwijs tot en met de universiteit.

Wil jij volgend jaar graag naar deze conferentie gaan? Ben je docent in het MBO, of studeer je voor onderwijsassistent? Vind jij de Engelse taal boeiend en wil je meer leren over de taal en didactiek? Dan kom jij dit jaar in aanmerking voor deze beurs!

• Voor studenten: je bent ingeschreven bij een Nederlandse MBO-opleiding tot onderwijsasisstent en je hebt belangstelling voor het lesgeven van Engels in het basisonderwijs. Je kunt receptief B1 van het ERK begrijpen.
• Voor MBO docenten: je hebt een wens om het curriculum Engels op je school te verbeteren en spreekt minimaal B2 van het ERK.

* Voor studenten: zorg dat je rekening houdt met de praktische consequenties van deze studiereis, bijvoorbeeld het inhalen van lessen, stagedagen of examens.

* Voor MBO docenten: u kunt hiervoor gebruik maken van de cao regel voor professionalisering(jaarlijks 50 uur, deze uren zijn opgenomen in de jaartaak en €500,- budget). In overleg met u leidinggevende is het is de bedoeling dat er waar nodig vervanging geregeld kan worden.

Welke kosten worden gedekt?

De beurs is 1000,- Euro voor studenten en 750,- Euro voor docenten Engels in het MBO.

Het wordt gebruikt om de volgende kosten te compenseren:

• reiskosten van en naar Edinburgh
• verblijfskosten
• inschrijfkosten voor de conferentie

Let op: Houdt er rekening mee dat de beurs niet alle kosten zal dekken.

Step 3: Motivation

Explain why you want to attend the IATEFL Conference.  Include information about what you hope to learn, and what professional development you expect to achieve. How do you see this experience improving your teaching practice or school curriculum?

Format for your motivation is a video of 3 – 4 minutes, in English, e.g. as an unpublished YouTube link, WeTransfer, or Google Drive. Be creative! You can make a filmed PowerPoint, vlog, et cetera, as long as you are in the picture.

Step 4: Dissemination of experience

After the conference the Sectiebestuur Engels expects you to share your experiences with others. This can be done in the form of a workshop/presentation during a meeting of the Sectiebestuur Engels (SBE)  or as a contribution to our website (blog/vlog/podcast).  Please indicate your choice:

Note: after the conference, you will be expected to hand in receipts or proof of payment for reimbursement.  De deadline voor ‘dissemination of experience’ is binnen vier weken na afloop van de conferentie.

Step 5: Signed declaration

Applicant confirms:

• To be authorized to attend the IATEFL conference;
• To disseminate the knowledge gained within four weeks of the conference;
• To be aware that he/she is responsible for arranging proper documentation, insurance, travel and accommodation;
• To be aware that he/she will be reimbursed after the conference up to a maximum of 700 Euros for students or 500 Euros for teachers/coordinators upon presentation of receipts or other proof of payment*;

*According to the Pound-Euro conversion rates during the IATEFL conference.
